Govt Announces Major CBC and Teacher Category Preparations for Grade 9 to Be Posted.
Principal Secretary of the State Department of Basic Education, PS Dr. Belio Kipsang, has declared that his department has taken important steps to make sure that students in grade 8 would smoothly transfer to grade 9 in 2025, following the CBC curriculum.
While on a tour to evaluate the progress of building classrooms for grade 9 students at Masikonde Primary School in Narok Central Sub County, the PS declared that 11, 000 classrooms are now being built nationwide to prepare for grade 9.
The PS also stated that the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) will build an extra 5,000 classrooms.
The aforementioned building is intended to provide 16, 000 classrooms in total, which are anticipated to house CBC grade 9 students beginning in 2025.
Kipsang went on to say that in response to their particular difficulties, the ministry had also allocated an additional Sh1 billion for Nairobi County schools.
Additionally, according to Kipsang, the Kenya Institute for Curriculum Development (KICD) has completed the finalization of the books that will be required for students in grade 9.
The PS also stated that starting in October and continuing through November, all junior secondary schools will receive books at a 1:1 ratio for use by grade nine students.
Kipsang declared simultaneously that the government will hire 20,000 more teachers.
The junior secondary will house the 20,000 instructors in order to facilitate a seamless transition from grade 8 to grade 9.
As of right now, the government has hired 56,000 junior secondary teachers in the previous 18 months. Kipsang claims that the quantity of people recruited at once in the nation is the highest.
