Ministry Release Term 3 Education calendar, The government has announced that all schools are set to reopen for term III ,2024 after a long holiday which started earlier August this month as per to the school calendar.
According to the Education cabinet Secretary most schools will start to reopen early next week on Monday.
Ministry of Education has issued the 2024 term III school calendar. Education Cabinet Secretary also made announcement on how schools should reopen despite the announced strike declared by teachers’ unions.
Despite teachers issuing a warning that they will down their tools as from Monday,all the pre-Primary, Primary, Junior and Secondary schools will report on 26th August 2024.

Term III OPENING CLOSING DURATION
Term Ill 26th Aug 2024 25th Oct 2024 9 Weeks
KPSEA & KILEA Assessment 28th Oct 2024 31st Oct 2024 4 Days
KCSE Examination 4th Nov 2024 22nd Nov 2024 3 Weeks
December Holiday 28th Oct 2024 3rd Jan 2025 10 Weeks
Term 3, 2024 which is the final term of the academic year will last nine weeks, from August 26 to October 25.
The School Opening Dates: August 26th, 2024
The School Closing Dates: October 25th, 2024
Time/ Duration: 9 weeks
KPSEA & KILEA EXAMINATION PERIOD
The above Examinations for the Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) and Intermediate Level Education Assessment (KILEA),are scheduled for October 28 to 31.
These examinations will take place during this period as follows;
- Exam Start Date on October 28th, 2024
- Exam end Date: October 31st, 2024
- Duration: 4 days.
2024 KCSE Examination Dates
The above National exams are scheduled to take place from November 4 to 22, 2024.
- Examination Start Date: November 4th, 2024
- Examination End Date: November 22nd, 2024
- Time/Duration: 3 weeks
Once the examinations are done, they will be followed by a lengthy December holiday, from October 28 to January 3, 2025.
2024 December Holiday
- Holiday Start Date: October 28th, 2024
- Holiday End Date: January 3rd, 2025
- Time/Duration: 10 weeks
