TSC to pay all teachers with newly increased compensation by August 30.
According to the instructors Service Commission, all instructors will get their new, increased salary by August 30.
The payment would be retroactive to July, according to Commission Chief Executive Officer Nancy Macharia, following the government’s disbursement of 13 billion Shillings for the second phase of the current Collective Bargaining Agreement.
The event occurred concurrently with the start of a nationwide picketing campaign by teachers who are members of the Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers.
The National Governing Council authorized the industrial action, according to Union Secretary General Akello Misori, after the government neglected to resolve members’ complaints by the Strike Notice’s expiration.
Prior to the reopening of schools, the Kenya National Union of Teachers has canceled the scheduled strikes.
